On 20 September 2026, Cape York Weekly reported that Hope Vale Aboriginal Shire Council has started upgrading the Everlina Bridge on Elim Road, about 45 km north-west of Cooktown, with $6.04 million in state funding ($5.14 million DFRA, $900,000 Works for Queensland 2024-2027). The 74 m crossing, now a 2.5-tonne single-lane bridge, is the only access route to the town's wastewater treatment plant, water treatment plant and tip, and the upgrade is being timed for the 2027 dry season with completion by 30 June next year. For operators of small remote municipal plants, the story matters because raising the deck above the 100-year flood level and lifting the load limit protects desludging, chemical and emergency-response logistics on which the wastewater plant depends.

Scottish Water has begun a £4 million phase of its Improving Urban Waters programme in Dumbarton's Dalreoch area, building a new screened storm overflow and upgrading the local wastewater network to keep debris out of the River Leven, according to a report published 31 August. A lane closure on Glasgow Road runs from 31 August to 7 December, with five-way temporary traffic lights manned 7am to 7pm. The works sit inside a wider £500 million Scottish Water programme targeting storm overflows with SEPA, aiming for more than 70 upgrades by end of 2027. For operators, the procurement focus is screening pretreatment, overflow hydraulics and spill-event logging, with traffic-heavy urban installation a practical constraint.

Santos has confirmed the start-up of seawater injection at the Nanushuk Drillsite-B within the Pikka onshore oilfield on Alaska's North Slope, with injection running at around 40,000bopd, according to a project profile published 19 September 2026. The injection programme underpins the ramp-up towards a reported plateau of approximately 80,000bopd from phase one. The associated infrastructure includes a barge-mounted seawater treatment plant with a reported 100,000bpd capacity, roughly 15,900 m³/day, and ABS-classed packaging supplied by VME Process. For operators and procurement leads, the event is a feedwater and injection-water supply story, not a discharge upgrade, and signals continued use of floating, modular, classed water-handling packages on remote North Slope pads.
