The GX Series Rotary Mechanical Bar Screen is a continuous-duty fine screening system for municipal and industrial wastewater headworks. Featuring stainless steel rake teeth, dual overload protection, and a self-cleaning brush discharge mechanism, it reliably removes suspended solids, rags, plastics, and fibrous debris — protecting downstream pumps, valves, and biological treatment processes.
Zhongsheng Environmental's GX Series Rotary Mechanical Bar Screen provides robust, continuous solids interception at the headworks of any wastewater treatment facility. Installed at the inlet channel, the rotating rake-tooth chain captures floating and suspended debris — rags, plastics, leaves, fibrous material, and other coarse solids — preventing blockages in downstream pumps, valves, aeration systems, and biological reactors. Built for 24/7 unattended operation with minimal maintenance, the GX Series is trusted in municipal sewage plants, industrial pretreatment facilities, and stormwater overflow systems across four continents.
The GX rotary bar screen consists of a rigid frame, rake-tooth chain assembly, drive mechanism, overload protection system, and discharge unit. The lower section of the screen is submerged in the inlet channel, where the stationary bar rack intercepts debris carried by the influent flow.
The motorized rake-tooth chain travels upward along guide rails on the upstream face of the screen, collecting captured solids as it ascends. At the top of the travel, the rake teeth invert as they pass over the drive sprocket, and the accumulated debris falls away under gravity — assisted by a rotating brush mechanism that scrubs the teeth clean. Screenings are discharged into a collection bin, screw conveyor, or wash press for dewatering and disposal.
The reduced flow velocity as water passes through the screen promotes natural sedimentation of heavier particles, while the continuously moving rakes prevent blinding and maintain consistent headloss across the screen face.
