A proposed industrial wastewater treatment solution for Ethiopia, with final process selection subject to client-supplied wastewater and discharge data.
Project Background
The client is requesting an industrial wastewater treatment solution in Ethiopia. Wastewater source, industry, daily and peak flow, influent quality, and discharge or reuse targets have not yet been provided. The proposed design will therefore be adjusted after the client confirms the project status, treatment basis, required equipment scope, and applicable receiving or reuse requirements.
Our Solution
Our complete proposed solution begins with a rotary mechanical bar screen to remove coarse solids, followed by an equalisation tank to balance variable industrial loads and provide controlled feeding. Multimedia filtration and activated-carbon polishing can be added where suspended solids, colloids, colour, or organic contaminants require it. An MBR system is proposed for biological treatment and membrane separation, reducing sludge volume and providing a high-quality clarified effluent suitable for reuse assessment. Chlorine dioxide or UV disinfection can be applied where pathogen control is required. Sludge is to be dewatered using a plate and frame filter press, with residual disposal assessed against local requirements. Final equipment, sizing, and treatment targets will be confirmed after the client provides the wastewater basis.
