DAF Pretreatment for an Overloaded Truck-Stop Lagoon

Delivered DAF treatment upstream of an overloaded truck-stop lagoon, with automatic dosing and the existing lagoon retained.

Project Background

The client needed pretreatment for an overloaded food-service wastewater lagoon that was failing discharge tests and being tankered off site daily. The client-supplied design basis included meal-period peaking, sub-zero winters, no influent analysis, and a requirement to retain the existing lagoon. Capacity: ~40 m³/d.

Our Solution

We delivered a DAF unit with automatic coagulant and flocculant dosing inside heated space, with freeze protection on external lines. The physical-chemical process removes FOG and suspended solids before the existing lagoon, allowing the lagoon to remain in service. Equipment, installation, commissioning, performance verification, training, handover, and after-sales support were completed.

Process Train

  1. 1Grease interception
  2. 2equalisation
  3. 3DAF with automatic coagulant and flocculant dosing
  4. 4existing lagoon
  5. 5discharge
