Proposed treatment for industrial mixed wastewater using pretreatment, DAF, MBBR and controlled sludge handling.
Project Background
The client-supplied design basis is 15,000 m³/d of industrial combined effluent requiring pretreatment and biological treatment. Influent TSS is 820 mg/L, and the proposed DAF stage should be assessed against the client-specified solids-removal duty. Flow variation, wastewater composition, operating hours and discharge or reuse criteria remain subject to confirmation before final process design and equipment selection.
Our Solution
Our proposed solution is a rotary bar screen, equalisation tank, chemical dosing, coagulation and flocculation, DAF, MBBR, final polishing with disinfection where required, and sludge thickening followed by plate-and-frame dewatering. The screen removes coarse solids, equalisation controls hydraulic and load variation, DAF separates floatable material and suspended solids, and MBBR provides flexible biological treatment for soluble biodegradable organics. Chemical demand and air requirements depend on jar and pilot testing. Sludge conditioning, thickening and dewatering are included as appropriate. Final process selection, equipment dimensions and treatment criteria will be adjusted after the client confirms wastewater characteristics, flow data, receiving requirements and operating conditions.
What We Asked First
Please confirm the wastewater industry and composition, average and peak flows, operating hours, pH, COD, BOD, oils, temperature, TSS characteristics, DAF inlet and outlet limits, discharge or reuse standards, treatment and sludge-handling requirements, utilities, site constraints and tender specifications.
