Hillside water plant upgraded from conventional clarification to membrane filtration; turbidity is now controlled by the membrane rather than by operator skill.
Project Background
A water plant drawing surface water had to meet drinking-water turbidity and microbiological standards on a hillside site with little flat land for a conventional clarifier train. Raw-water turbidity swings sharply in the rainy season.
Our Solution
Dual-media pretreatment feeding hollow-fibre PVDF ultrafiltration skids (0.03 µm), with automatic backwash and air scour. Ozone and UV downstream of the clean-water tank give a two-barrier disinfection that does not rely on chlorine dose alone.
Process Train
- 1Quartz sand filter
- 2Activated carbon filter
- 3Precision filter
- 4UF membrane skid
- 5Clean-water tank
- 6Ozone sterilisation
- 7UV sterilisation
