Proposed treatment train for industrial effluent, subject to confirmation of source, flow basis, contaminants and discharge or reuse targets.
Project Background
The client-supplied design basis is 50 m³/d, but the industrial source, flow profile, operating hours, influent characteristics and applicable receiving or reuse requirements remain unconfirmed. The proposed solution is modular and suitable for adaptation once representative wastewater samples, operating data and project boundaries are available. Final equipment sizing and treatment targets will follow engineering assessment.
Our Solution
The proposed train uses a rotary mechanical bar screen to remove coarse material, followed by equalisation, flow control and chemical conditioning to manage variable industrial loads. DAF removes floatable materials and suspended solids where appropriate, while an MBBR provides flexible biological treatment for biodegradable organics. A secondary clarifier, tertiary filtration and disinfection stage can be adjusted or omitted according to the final receiving or reuse standard. Settled or floated solids should be thickened and dewatered using a plate-and-frame filter press, with the filtrate returned to the process where suitable and the cake handled under the applicable waste rules. Once the source, flow data, pollutants, targets and supply scope are confirmed, the process train, equipment sizing, chemical dosing and residuals handling will be finalised.
